This Doltone Bride Became an Internet Sensation

Grace Limon, took an unconventional approach to her wedding day, choosing to wear a pink wedding dress while her bridesmaids wore white!

Not only did she stand out on her wedding day, but she caught the attention of some top Sydney media including Allure, Cosmopolitan and The Daily Mail.

She said she had known ever since she was a little girl that she didn’t want to wear white for her big day. She spotted her dream dress from Hayley Paige Bridal on Instagram, and loved it so much she bought it without even trying it on. A gamble that more than paid off in the end!

The gown was made of floor length dusty pink tulle, with floral lace detailing and beading. Grace said she was never worried about her bridesmaids stealing the show in their traditional white gowns with fitted silhouettes. In her interview with Allure she said, “We tried other colours and it didn’t work and the white just made my dress stand out more.”

She certainly looked like a real life princess on her wedding day, and she had the perfect fairytale reception to match. Grace celebrated her wedding reception to husband Frank at our Jones Bay Wharf venue on Sydney Harbour.

The design for their reception was certainly inspired by the statement gown. They opted for a white bridal table with soft pink backlighting, and white and pink florals.

Grace’s advice to other brides to be dreaming of wearing anything but white, “Just do it and don’t worry about what anyone else thinks! As long as you feel good about it, that’s all that matters.”

At bridal fashion week earlier this year, blush and blue wedding dresses were predicted as an upcoming trend. With more and more couples moving away from traditional weddings, we think we’re about to see a rise in the modern bride like Grace!
