Creating the Perfect Fairytale Wedding

Craig and Sezen celebrated their newly married life at Doltone House Jones Bay Wharf located in the heart of Pyrmont. Filled with glamorous white florals, luxurious centrepieces and table decor along with an array of hanging chandeliers that added to the romantic ambiance.  It was definitely the fairy-tale wedding the couple could have dreamed of.

Having met 4 years prior to their wedding through mutual friends, Craig and Sezen were complete opposites with friends citing “they are like two sides of the same coin”. Craig brought variation into Sezen’s life, which she found beautiful. For Sezen, her proposal took her completely by surprise and was followed by an intimate and special dinner and of course, wedding planning.

TWO SPECIAL MOMENTS

Both Sezen and Craig had 2 very special moments from their wedding day that will last forever, the first was when Sezen walked down the aisle. The second moment was the reaction they had as they entered into their reception- a complete WOW as the venue styling took their breath away. The couple said “It was a moment in time they wish they could freeze and go back to.”

THE WEDDING VENUE

“When you walk into the right venue, you will just know”, and when Craig and Sezen stepped into Doltone House, Jones Bay Wharf, they knew it was the one. For both Sezen and Craig they found that the outside views of the city skyline and the Sydney Harbour Bridge complemented the spacious and modern venue inside. The couple found that the experience and service provided by Doltone House was seamless, this made their wedding journey perfect for the most important day of their lives.

THE VENUE STYLING

With Sezen being a perfectionist, she never thought that she would be able to let go of the reigns on one of the most important days of my life. Sezen enlisted the help of John Alten Event Design, Planning & Management, and that was when she knew she was in capable hands.

Every detail had to be perfect for the couple, and there were many hours that went into bringing their dream wedding to life. The couple decided they wanted something that was modern yet timeless, with a touch of luxe. With a love of white flowers, they incorporated a colour palette of white, black and silver. This luxurious theme was extended throughout their invites and their entire venue.

Their theme was “light” which stemmed from Sezen’s love for crystals, mirrors, chandeliers and Craig’s interest in light installations.

Together with the help and guidance of their wedding planner, the remainder of the styling fell perfectly together. Each element complemented the next again confined within the colour scheme and theme of light. Craig and Sezen also enlisted the help of John Emmanuel Floral Events and incorporated white roses and orchards into the design. Their biggest surprise was of the silver foliage, which left no greenery in sight.

The dance floor radiated a white gloss, and an abstract cluster of all white florals behind the bridal table really set the foundation for our focal install. One of Sezen’s favourite details was of their dance floor decal, which was the outline of a rose, centred with their initials ‘CS’ monogrammed. The centre of the room was filled with a cluster of seven chandeliers which all worked together spectacularly in “lighting up” the venue.

PLANNING TIPS

“First and foremost, let go of everything on the day and really take every moment in and enjoy it. I would encourage couples to really think of what is most important to them in terms of venue and styling and really just trust in their decisions.  Trends are forever changing, therefore if you try to keep up with what is in now, you will never truly be satisfied because there will always be the next best thing. Go with something that complements you both and a style that you can look back at in years’ time and still appreciate it. Again just really enjoy every minute of it, you will miss all the little things once it’s all over.”
