With a new focus on experiential events, we rolled out some new and exciting event packages to industry professionals on Wednesday the 19th of July! Promising guests a feast for the senses, guests were treated to an evening of foodie indulgence, including a Wine and Cheese Masterclass, Whole Porchetta Banquet and Decadent Nutella Dessert Station.
The evening kicked off with prosecco on arrival, giving our guests a chance to meet and greet with our expert events team in a relaxed atmosphere! Taking up seats in the north side of Hyde Park Ballroom, our expert Sommelier guided the Cheese and Wine Masterclass, tasting the way through 6 cheeses and 6 wines (from our premium Winemasters beverage package). The evening was as fun as it was informational, with great tips for pairing Australian wines with a variety of Australian and Italian cheeses.
As guests moved from the Cheese and Wine Masterclass into the south end of Hyde Park Ballroom, they were treated to a feast for the eyes, with our in-house styling team taking a ‘Gastbyesque’ approach to decoration, with grand floral arrangements, candlelight and dramatic lighting. Guests were treated to a ‘silver service’ style dinner, with live carving of the whole porchetta at the table. Pronounced “por-ketta”, porchetta is an Italian slow-roasted suckling pig, stuffed with garlic and herbs and slow roasted.
The evening wrapped up on a sweet note, with the ultimate Nutella Dessert Station featuring doughnuts, crepes, éclairs and fruit (for a lesser indulgent option). John Grealy, Head of Sales and Strategy at Doltone House said, “It was a great to catch up with old and new clients in a relaxed atmosphere, and it was fantastic to see so many industry leaders in the same room, enjoying themselves.”
The event tied in with the release of the Doltone House 2017 Christmas Packages, which feature some of the foodie experiences described in this post!
