Light and Love at Craig and Sezen’s Heritage Wharf Wedding
Craig and Sezen celebrated their newly married life together at Doltone House Jones Bay Wharf. Their reception transformed the blank canvas of Heritage Wharf with glamorous white florals, luxurious centrepieces and elegant tableware. Shimmering chandeliers suspended from the ceiling added to a dreamily romantic ambience.
Opposites attract
Having met through mutual acquaintances, Craig and Sezen were complete opposites at first glance, with friends remarking “they’re like two sides of the same coin”. The two might have seemed like an unlikely pair, but their differences brought the spice of variety into each other’s lives. Despite the close bond they’d built together over the past four years, Sezen says Craig popping the question took her completely by surprise. The proposal was followed by an intimate dinner where the two laid their dream wedding plans and ideas on the table.

Moments of magic
Sezen and Craig agreed there were two very special moments from their wedding day that they know they’ll remember forever. The first was when Sezen walked down the aisle. The second moment was the reaction they had upon seeing their reception venue in all its magnificently styled glory. Stepping into Heritage Wharf, the couple had to pause for a second to take it all in – the scene before them took their breath away. The two described the experience as a moment in time they wish they could freeze and go back to.

“When you walk into the right venue, you just know”
Craig and Sezen knew they’d found the perfect place to hold their reception the second they arrived on Jones Bay Wharf’s gantry. The two were enamoured by the industrial architecture and Harbour Bridge views complementing the modern interiors of Heritage Wharf.
As their plans were set into motion, they found the service provided by Doltone House truly exceptional, making for a smooth and seamless run-up to the most important day of their lives.
Let there be light
As a self-proclaimed perfectionist, Sezen never thought she’d be able to let go of the reins on one of the most important days of my life. Sezen enlisted the help of our preferred stylists and suppliers, and guided by the Doltone House team, she soon felt secure in the knowledge that her big day’s plans were in capable hands.

The reception’s theme was “light”, stemming from Sezen’s love of crystals, mirrors, chandeliers and Craig’s interest in light installations.
Each element complemented the next, from the candelit tables set with transparent vases and white roses to the silver-toned furniture and icicle feature lights.
The dance floor radiated a white gloss, and an abstract cluster of all white florals behind the bridal table really set the foundation for our focal install. One of Sezen’s favourite details the dance floor decal designed just for them – the outline of a rose, with a monogrammed ‘CS’ in the middle. The centre of the room featured a cluster of seven chandeliers, working together to light up the space in spectacular fashion.

Advice from the Bride and Groom
First and foremost, let go of everything on the day and really take in every moment. We’d encourage couples to think of what is most important to them in terms of the venue and styling and really just trust in their decisions. Trends are forever changing – if you try to keep up with what’s in now, you’ll never truly be satisfied because there will always be the next best thing. Go with something that you can look back at in years’ time and still appreciate. Just really enjoy every minute of it, you will miss all the little things once it’s all over.
